We’ve reviewed all five lists for the Top 5 Book Clubs to date and found which books appear more than once across the lists and which authors appear more than once across the lists. Now, we’ve found six authors that appear twice on a list. Therefore, here are six more authors that your book club should read!

Yrsa Daley-Ward is a poet and writes about identity, race, mental health and femininity. Between Two Books has selected works by Daley-Ward twice. First, Bone was the 21st pick on the book club’s list. Then, pick number 40 was Daley-Ward’s memoir, The Terrible.

Jonathan Franzen

Two of Jonathan Franzen’s highly acclaimed novels have landed on Oprah’s Book Club list. In September 2001 The Corrections, a National Book Award winner, was the book club’s 45th pick. Nine years later, Franzen’s Freedom was Oprah’s 68th selection for her book club.

Two Jane Hamilton novels were selected for Oprah’s Book Club. In November 1996, Hamilton’s award winning, The Book of Ruth, was the third pick for the book club. Then, in December 1999, A Map of the World was the 31st selection for Oprah’s Book Club.

In December 1996, Oprah’s Book Club selected Wally Lamb’s She’s Come Undone as the fourth book pick. In addition, I Know This Much is True was the 19th book club selection in June 1998.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez is the most translated Spanish-language author. He popularized the magical realism literary style. In January 2004, One Hundred Years of Solitude was the 51st pick for Oprah’s Book Club. Three years later, Love in the Time of Cholera was the book club’s 63rd read in October 2007.

Between Two Books selected Patti Smith’s 2010 memoir and National Book Award winner, Just Kids, as their sixteenth book. Smith’s 2019 memoir, Year of the Monkey was then chosen as the book club’s 50th selection.

Based on the reading lists for the Top 5 Book Clubs, these are 6 authors that your book club should read. As the longest running of the Top 5 popular book clubs and having the most selections to date, Oprah’s Book Club has the most duplicate author selections. Compared to Our Shared Shelf, Reese’s Book Club and Read with Jenna which have not repeated an author yet.
